I've been getting a lot of questions about Gala Games lately so I thought I'd take the time to see what this project is all about.
To be honest, I went into it with a skeptical slant because there are metaverse/gaming/NFT projects popping up left and right these days.
Let me tell you why Gala Games is different.
For starters, the two founders of Gala Games are heavyweights in the gaming industry. Eric Schiermeyer is the co-founder of Zynga, a multi-billion dollar gaming studio. Mike McCarthy worked at Zynga too and is credited with creating Farmville, that famous Facebook game.
Gala Games is also not a crypto project per se. It is an ecosystem consisting of multiple blockchain games, two of which are currently live. Each of these blockchain games will have their own economics and tokenomics, and one of them has its own token already.
Gala Games is also in the process of building their Galachain side chain which will be able to support 100 million monthly users with 50 thousand nodes according to Jason Brink (Gala Games head of marketing, so maybe take that claim with a pinch of salt!)
Now I know all of this sounds amazing, but Gala Games does have a few concerning sides to it. I won't get into those here, but let's just say that they really need to work on putting together some documentation, a roadmap, and a whitepaper would be nice too!
In any case, Gala Games is definitely a project that you need to pay attention to, and this video should serve as the perfect primer.
