There is no doubt that this year has presented a unique set of challenges for all of us. However, for some people, it's been a struggle for survival as economic conditions have driven them to desperation.
One such country that is going through this at the moment is Sri Lanka. They have run out of fuel, have daily power cuts and are quickly running out of food.
While a great deal of this came down to economic mismanagement, the shortage of food is perhaps the most puzzling of all. How does a country that was previously meeting most of it's needs for food production, facing such grave shortages?
That's exactly what I will be exploring in my video today. I will give you a complete overview of exactly what is going on in the country and how it got to this stage. Everything from “debt traps” to corruption and environmental policies.
This video is especially important for all of us as it acts as a microcosm of what could happen on a global scale should countries implement similarly misguided policies. In fact, there are already several countries that are going down that path – something that I explore in the video as well.
