I know that those markets are looking pretty bleak at the moment.
But, that should not deter from the fact of how much widescale adoption is taking place in the crypto space. I can say that because recently Gemini released a survey that they commissioned earlier in the year.
This was a global survey of 30,000 people in numerous countries around the world and, it was one of the most telling that there is. They asked everything from adoption to perceptions, usage and geographical trends.
Some of the most surprising trends for me were those that we are seeing coming out of the Emerging markets. In Africa & Latin America, more and more people are moving away from the status quo and embracing cryptocurrency.
This adoption is important because it will help to transition Bitcoin away from the status of a “risk on” asset that is merely used for speculation. If you have more people that are using it as a currency, there is more utility, there is more liquidity, there is less volatility.
There were also some other really interesting stats here specifically as it relates to the supposed gender gap that we we face in crypto. Spoiler alert – it's shrinking.
