Hey Guys,
You might have heard about the White House's recent crypto report and it's criticisms of proof of work mining in the context of climate change. This report was a response to president Joe Biden's executive order about crypto, and it is very revealing.
Basically, it's clear that the current administration is looking for every excuse it can to ban cryptocurrency generally, and Bitcoin specifically. The shoddy science in this report makes it clear enough, and I give you the facts and stats as I break it down.
For what it's worth, the authors do acknowledge that crypto mining can be used to stabilise energy grids and plays a role in the growth of renewable energy. It's just unfortunate that their agenda required them to always follow up with another negative!
Let's hope nothing comes of this report…
